A Washington Post article was highlighted renunciation of shrimp for Christmas, although not all. Tightened after research in 2013, it was found that the production of shrimp from Thailand is turning from 250,000 workers in conditions inhumane. There are men, women and even children .In Italy consumption of shrimp is very high and increases over the Christmas holidays, so that 64,000 tons are imported. These unfortunate workers are exploited in dirty sheds, exposed to chemicals without care medical care. Slavery is condemned in Thailand, but the cost of the protection of workers exceeds the indignation. So the final choice to stop this mechanism up to the consumer, that when buying peeled shrimp of tropical origin, accepts this.
