Expo – Zimbabwe: “Crocoburger” e “Zebraburger” | eatparade
Among the dozens of sandwiches in the Exposition of Milan, there is the “Crocoburger”, in the space of Zimbabwe and which has long been discussed. The famous sandwich is made from crocodile meat, baobab sauce and grilled vegetables. At a cost of 15 euro it is accompanied with baked potatoes and a soft drink made from baobab and red grape juice Italian. There is always a long queue for Crocoburger in Expo of Milan.
The Crocoburger currently is banned in Italy and can be enjoyed only within Expo. The crocodile is an animal in danger of extinction but the Pavilion of Zimbabwe ensure that the meat comes from farms audited and that they promised to repopulate the species. It took a bit ‘of time to unlock the permissions but the experiment is getting a great success.
The crocodile meat contains little fat, high protein and nutritional values are high. Even the taste not disappoint, in fact, the texture is soft and juicy, like the chicken, while the bread is soft and does not cover the delicate, sweet flavor of the meat.
Not all. Another exclusive of Zimbabwe Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, in the Cluster of Cereals and tubers, is the “Zebraburger”. A sandwich stuffed with white zebra meat, cheese, pickles, and barbecue sauce and salsa baobab. As the Cropoburger also the Zebraburger costs 15 € and the menu includes fries and drink at the Baobab. The zebra meat is healthy and tasty, as consistency reminiscent of the horse and how taste is reminiscent of the wild boar. In Italy it is not prohibited, but is still poorly understood.
Both are special tastings that might be strange and fascinating especially for Western visitors.
