YOUTH AND SICK | eatparade
The Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Rome and the National Institute of Health have conducted a research on Italian university showing their bad habits: diet low in fruits and vegetables, excess alcohol, sedentary lifestyle.
The research involved the lifestyle of 8,516 students from ten Italian universities. These studies show that males have worse behavioral habits.
Only four out of ten university follow the national guidelines for a healthy lifestyle, while 8.5% does the canonical five meals a day, especially jumping almost every breakfast and 11.3% consume excessive amounts of caffeine .
The most worrying fact is that 30% of students not engaged in any kind of physical activity, but lets go to the temptations of tobacco. Three out of ten students in fact they smoke regularly.
This has tremendous impact on the health, which in theory should be strong in young people, but in reality it is based only on appearance. Males are more overweight, more females facing anorexia. To all this is added the lack of attention to medical checks, which help monitor the state of health.
