However, one sedentary lifestyle is more dangerous than you think and, in some cases, can even prove fatal. According to a report published in 2010, in fact, physical inactivity causes 3.2 million deaths each year.

Lack of physical activity along with an unhealthy diet are the second leading cause of death worldwide after tobacco and people who do not exercise sport have between 20 and 30% more likely to die prematurely. According to scientific studies, some cancers would be linked to a sedentary lifestyle performed by patients. It appears that the lack of physical activity to inhibit the production of enzymes that keeps food longer in the stomach and in the gut, worsening the immune response and increasing the chances of developing cancers. A sedentary lifestyle also doubles the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes type II, at the same time increases the risk of hypertension. In addition, those who lead a sedentary lifestyle have more likely to suffer from insomnia, to experience symptoms of depression and eating more due to a hormonal process that promotes an increase in appetite.
Every day comes a new study that says because the movement is beneficial to health. The human being is made for a sedentary lifestyle but to abandon this lifestyle does not necessarily mean having to go to the gym every day. The human race has evolved over thousands of years to be active so, if there is not a specific reason to stay on the couch then it is good to get rid of laziness and spend part of the week to do some ‘movement.
