Biodiversity is the variety of living things that inhabit the Earth, and is measured at the level of genes, species, populations and ecosystems. An incredible variety of organisms, beings tiny, plants, animals, ecosystems and all linked to each other, all are essential. Biodiversity in the world has some impressive numbers. Until now we have been described more than 1 million 700 thousand species, but in reality it is assumed that there may be more than 12 million: many are waiting to be discovered. Biodiversity ensures the survival of life on Earth. The man has the right to extinguish species. Instead it has a duty to preserve the environment and the Earth’s resources for future generations.
