This piece of information is quite allarming, due to the fact that, one day, all these children could become overweight adults. Moreover, they could be parents, passing on their own children all their bad habits, as for food education.
That said, it must be taught to the parents of tomorrow which are the good basics as for food education, in order to adopt an helthy lifestyle, honouring it over time.
Eat well, live better is meant to be a project aimed at Primary School children, so as to raise awareness about the negative consequences of physical inactivity and bad food habits.
The main purpose of this project is to teach children how to be aware of what they eat and hot be ware of they actually need so as to eat properly.
By playing with each other in groups, even trough rewards, children will be able to assimilate all mentioned above.
The Project will consist of three different phases:
- at first, there will be meetings with experts in the field of nutrition, who are going to teach children how to eat properly, without renouncing anything they like;
- secondly, children will have to have healthy snacks at least 3 times a week, including, for example, fruits, hand made cakes or jogurt. They will have to find a way in order to exercise as well. Every healthy snack eaten or every exercise taken, every class will gain several point, which will be summed up at the end of the Project on a global rank;
- in the end, the class who will score the most will be the winner of special prize, such as, for example, an healthy snacks suplly or a tour guide to a farm.
What is worth mentioning about this project is the centrality of the idea of having fun: children will be able to learn food education essential through a playful experience.
