Da cosa è composto Foody | eatparade
We of Don Bosco we tried to figure out what is composed Foody. It was hard to see its fruits and vegetables, and still have some doubts. We could not figure to more fruits, but we tried to do our best; hopefully that’s enough!
From our observation it showed that Foody has:
Banana: The term banana is applied to the fruit of the plant, the banana. Bananas typically weigh 125 to 200 g, although this weight varies considerably between the different crops. The fruit is edible for about 80%, the remaining 20% is husk; It can be eaten raw or cooked.
Orange: Orange is a tree that can reach up to 12 meters, elongated, fleshy leaves and white flowers. The shoots are always green, never reddish. The fruits are round and both the peel and the pulp are the typical orange color. The skin is characterized by a slight roughness which has become a yardstick in totally different fields: for example, we speak of skin orange peel in cosmetics, or orange peel surfaces in buildings. The rest of Orange is only three months, so it happens that the tree blossom and bear fruit simultaneously. The first fruits can be harvested in November and the last in May-June. A mature tree produces about 500 fruits per year.
Watermelon is a false berry peel tough and relatively subtle; the inside is red (or, less frequently, yellow, orange or white depending on the variety) and full of seeds, which can be blacks, white or yellow. The pulp is formed to over 90% water, but also contains a fair amount of sugars, especially fructose, and vitamins A, C, B and B6. The fruits are only available in summer, from May to September.
Pyrus: means the fruit (in reality it is an apple, a false fruit) of plants of the genus Pyrus they belong to many different species. The pear is rich in simple sugars, especially fructose. The prevalence of potassium makes it suitable for a low-salt diet (ie a salt-free diet). Production takes place in late July and is also preserved under 3-4 months of cold. The pear is therefore available for most of the year and is eaten plain or cooked in sugar syrup. Alimentareviene industry used mainly for the production of juices and syrup.
Onion: Onion is a bulbous plant grown. It is a biennial herbaceous plant whose life cycle, in cultivation, is interrupted in a year in order to direct it to the consumer. It has shallow roots, with leaves that become enlarged in the basal portion giving the edible part. Form a long flower stalk that bears an inflorescence with flowers in umbels of white-yellowish color. The fruit is a capsule. Its main use is to food and seasoning, but also took steps in therapy for the properties conferred by science and traditions of folk medicine.
Fennel: they distinguish the variety of wild fennel from the varieties of vegetable crops (sweet).
The wild fennel is a wild plant, perennial, branched from the stem, up to 2m high. It has leaves that resemble hay, green in summer and produces umbels of small yellow flowers. Follow the fruits first green and then grayish. Wild fennel using the buds, leaves, flowers and fruits. Fennel cultivated (or sweet) is an annual or biennial plant with tap root. It reaches 60-80 cm high. It consumes the large sheath grumolo white that develops at the base.
