Food Education and Mediterranean Diet

Purpose of the project:

Nutrition education is an activity for the kids not only educational, but also preventive, in one age group, which is 8 to 12 years, where are initiated to implement food choices free from outside control family.
It ‘important to also try, with the right information, the right to develop a culture of “taste” able to counteract the process of approval of the law burger and snack that is spreading among young people.

If we put in the foundation of the educational project acquiring a conscious identity – consciousness and self-knowledge, ability to relate with the surrounding context, responsibilities daily choices – the curriculum becomes a well-selected experiences, cognitive and social, disciplinary and design, linked to a process of internalization: who I am, what I belong, with whom I share my membership and my historical memory, what are my values.
The proposed route is general, in order to address the issue, however complex and cuts across several disciplines, with an organization teaching distributed at different levels depending on the age of the students in the classes first, second and third.

Behavioral objectives:

1) To promote pupils’ socialization, collaboration, the exchange of ideas
2) promote the confrontation with cultures other than their own

4) Develop the design attitudes and operational skills

Methodology and tools:
The activities will start from direct and personal experiences regarding food choices and the reasons explained by the children themselves.
Through questionnaires specially prepared, the boys gather useful data in order to compare the food tastes and habits familiar with those of the past. The reworking of the responses identify the nuclei of reflection that will become the first motivational approach of the proposed route.
Given the significant presence of non-EU students in our school, you can easily make a comparison with the different eating habits of their countries of origin and highlight whether and to what extent they have changed.
It is expected the project:
The educational visit to a farm or a food industry

the use of media on food safety, on the role of nutritional foods, etc. on legislation.

PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS

The goal of environmental education project is to overcome
a teaching environment to arrive at a teaching activity for the environment, based on behavior, values ​​and changes.
Following the well-known principle “act locally, think globally, the aim is to increase young people’s mentality of conscious development of the territory from the life contexts and relationships in which they live, from the school to the city and to the world whole.
