The cheese creates addiction.
After the meat products, cheeses are now at the center of the allegations, as researchers at the University of Michigan, during a study, they found that the casein contained in the cheese, it’s a slice of Parmesan or mozzarella, addictive as drug. This substance, typical of cow’s milk, is able to act on the opioid receptors of the brain, as it is cleaved during the digestion and releases a series of calls case opiates morphine, responsible for the great sense of satisfaction. Cheese is under fire, because it is the excess that is bad, because it is rich in fat and over time can cause damage.
This research, published in the journal US National Library of Medicine and The Independent reported on the website, addressed to all those foods that act like drugs. For a large group of students, 500 in all, were administered a series of questionnaires based on appreciation to the different foods, and through the assessment scale of the obsessions and seizures of Yale, it was discovered that the cheeses are in the list top; among these foods, we also find the pizza, due to the presence of the typical ingredients of the filling.
Foods high on the list are the more elaborate and more rich in fat can be addictive, since the person is always looking for that taste. They are also the most difficult to digest; from this study, in fact, also it shows that fats are linked to issues of food addiction, as claimed by Erica Schulte, one of the researchers of this study.
