Liquid water on Mars. The discovery of NASA
On September 28 during a press conference, NASA revealed the presence of water on Mars in liquid form. A kind of ice, whose existence was confirmed in some observation points as the craters Hale, Horowitz and Palikir where you can see dark stripes, which are small channels formed probably by the flow of water in semi-liquid form.
According to the NASA researchers, the water plays a key role in the formation of streaking observable seasonally on some slopes of the planet. During the summer season, when the surface temperature drives up the thermometer above the threshold of -23 degrees centigrade, rivulets of water starts to scroll from some craters and protrude from the rock, and then disperse in a series of channels. The forecasts are amount to one million cubic meters spread over an area very wide. For years, researchers suggest the presence of liquid water on the surface of Mars. Last April arrived the news sent by the rover Curiosity that night on the ground of Mars are formed small puddles of water, which evaporates during the day. Today, the unequivocal evidences were obtained by analyzing data collected by the space probe MRO. On board this space station, a sophisticated tool “spectrometer” has revealed an abundance of salts with water within the crystals. This frost dig streams on the mountain ranges of the red planet.
The origin and composition have yet to be revealed. This discovery, in fact, brings some doubt. You have to understand what gives rise to the water flow, if it comes from an underground aquifer with the arrival of warmer weather, it is favored by the presence of salts that capture, or whether it is the effect of condensation of ‘ moisture present in the layer of the atmosphere that surrounds the planet’s crust. These are hypotheses advanced for now.
